Sydney's 6

Sydney turned 6 today. For months and months it was all she could think about. I can't even tell you how many times she asked me how many days until her birthday. Today we just had a family party and the Hamiltons came as well. On Saturday we are having a joint friends party for Zipporah and Sydney. I think she had a fun evening and she was so happy to finally, after months and months, get presents. Oh and her cake is a crown if you can't tell.

Back to school

Well today I got my 6 oldest off to start another school year. I must admit I am not a big fan of sending my kids to school every day all day long and as this is the first day I am a bit of a nervous wreck. I forgot to have a talk with Forrest about how to handle the mean kids. Poor boy just has had more than his share of boys being mean to him. And when I took the older girls to their classrooms, which are by Forrests class, he came out and told me he was all unpacked, he looked a bit worried/sad. I gave him a quick hug and told him to have a great day and that I would see him after school.

I was going to talk to Sydney's worker, the school is supposed to provide her with a worker because she is autistic. I wanted to introduce her to Sydney and let Sydney know this is who she can go to if she need help of feels frustrated or lost, but there is no one there for her yet. What the HECK!!!???? They freakin made a big deal about it last year long before school was out, you think they would have someone lined up for her for the first day. She is high functioning, but I could already tell when I dropped her off that she was off today. Apparently there is going to be someone in the class today, but not who they are going to hire. Ummm that is even worse. fetch. I am feel a bit of ownership with the worker, as it is because of my daughter that the class has the full time worker, she is supposed to be there full time for SYDNEY, but they told me not to worry because if Sydney doesn't need her she can help out with the rest of the class. But I don't care about that, that worker is there only because of Sydney and Sydney better get the attention she needs. It is her and Zipporahs first day of grade one and that has me a bit nervous as well. I know Zipporah will adjust well, but I hope all day every day is not too hard on her. I really worry about teachers being too hard on kids. We have had some not so great teachers in the past and it really makes for a tough year. I hope her teacher is nice. Daisy, Lynnette and Abigail all have teachers that we know and really like, so I am sure they will do really well.

All the kids were a bit nervous and unsure. I hope they all have a good day.

Chris is going to give everyone back to school blessing tonite, we forgot to do them last night. Maybe I need a 'mom needs to keep low stress while pregnant and the kids are back to school' blessing. I can't wait until school is out!!!

A visit to the dentist

On August 28th it was time to haul the kids to the dentist for their yearly check ups. I only had to take 7 and Chris stayed home with the other three. It was Owen's very first visit to the dentist and he did so well. Lucky boy is the only one out of the 7 that doesn't have to go back for work to be done. We started the day at 8am and were home by 1130am. In a few weeks I will be taking 6 of them back to get some work done. The problem is one their back teeth, so I am thinking this year for Christmas everyone is getting an electric tooth brush so they can get that extra help with brushing. Here are some pictures of Owen. I only got pictures of him, since it was his first visit.

Worried about having his shoes on.

Ward campout 2008

Well, it has been years since we have been camping. And I sadly have to admit that most my children have never gone. So we decided the ward camp out was the perfect place to start. And it was so fun. Chris and I had brought so much food that we were able to feed so many to her in our ward and it was so fun sitting, eating and visiting with everyone. We were able to get to know some members of our ward even better, and hopefully everyone doesn't think we are the crazy family with 10 kids. We decided next time we are camping for way longer, because it is just too much work packing, setting up, taking down and unpacking for just one night. I have heard rumors of the ward doing another camp out next year and I can't wait. We are also planning a few family camping trips next year and so our tradition of camping is now started!!! WOOHOO!!!!

hmmm funny how I only thought to take pictures during eating times. The roasting of marshmallows is fun, but I must admit a bit stressful for me as sticky gets everywhere. I am going to have to brainstorm for next summer on a way for the kids to not get so sticky, if that is possible. hehehe

Zipporah is 6

Zipporah turned 6 on August 19th. We did however, celebrate on the 18th. She was so lucky and grandma and grandpa Boehme and Lucy were up and had to leave early on the 19th so we had her birthday a day early so they could be here for it. She wasn't sad at all about getting presents early. On her actual birthday, Chris took her out for lunch and she went on a little shopping spree at the dollar store. Her and Sydney will be having a combined party with friends a week or so after school starts.

Whats one more

I did announce a couple weeks ago, but we had a bit of a scare, so I deleted it and after 2 weeks of waiting I can finally post that we are pregnant and this time leave it up. My ultrasound today was one just to check for a heartbeat and to see if my dates are correct. The ultrasound tech was so nice and put the thing on my belly and said right away, there is a heart beat. Big relief. Then she quickly measured for dates and they are right on, she printed a picture and called in Chris and we got to see baby kicking around and she showed us the heart beating, then it was over. So I am 15 weeks along and due January 30th. I have been really really sick, but it is slowly getting better, which is nice. We are most likely not going to find out the sex of the baby this time. I really like the surprise and although it was fun finding out with Calliope, this time we will wait.
