Christmas Eve & Christmas 2010

Christmas Eve got split a bit. Chris first took the kids to his moms house for a couple hours, then I took the kids to my moms for the evening. At my parents house we had fondue, then a nativity acting out with the kids and then Joulupukki gifts, of pj's, for the kids. My dad went to Finland on his mission and I grew up with the Joulupukki, so we do a littler version with our kids. The Joulupukki comes Christmas Eve night while you are still awake. He knocks at the door and when you answer it, he isn't there, but he left leaves a big bag of gifts.

The first pictures are of what kids got dressed up to act out the Nativity.

The next set of pictures is of their new pj's! I somehow missed getting a picture of Daisy, so that's why there isn't one of her in there, but I promise she was there and also received 2 pairs of pj's

And Christmas day. Chris spent Christmas Eve with us after we were done at my moms and slept over and we all spent Christmas day together. It was a nice day. Just us. This year we were really blessed. So many people brought food or money or gifts or all of the above to our door during the 2 weeks before Christmas, word got out that we were having some hard times emotionally and what a blessing to know Heavenly Father was making sure we would be ok, and sent so many people to our door, and even more wonderful that so many people listened to their promptings to come to our door. Most people we will never know how who they are, but the love that came with each knock at the door was felt and I am forever grateful.

All the stockings were placed on the couch with care! hahaha

NEW TRADITION!!!!!!! We decided to start a new tradition of taking the kids to McDonalds for Christmas lunch. We still had turkey dinner for supper, but we felt it was a nice idea to go for lunch since McDonalds is open til 5. And we were right, it was fun!!!! So we will do it every year from now on.

Waiting for the food. Grandma Jensen came with us.
